Opportunities: Graduate StudentshipsThe institute has over 20 PhD students working in different areas of plant and fungal science, often in collaboration with other institutes in Edinburgh or elsewhere. Training of PhD students is supported by the Graduate School of Biology including a transferable skills programme. The Institute of Molecular Plant Sciences awards a number of competitve PhD studentships. Applicants are encouraged to contact individual research group leaders as soon as possible. Please note that these studentships provide living expenses and fees to EU nationals, but only fees to non-EU nationals. The institute also welcomes applications from candidates with independent sources of funding. You can find detailed instructions on how to apply here. NERC provides studentships for the MSc/Postgraduate Diploma course in the Biodiversity and Taxonomy of Plants, taught jointly by the School of Biological Sciences and the Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh.
